Alicia Auden

LEGAL PRACTITIONER DIRECTOR

Alicia is a Legal Practitioner Director who holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Adelaide, as well as a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice.

She has over 9 years’ experience working at a variety of commercial litigation law firms. Throughout her career Alicia has provided advice for, and appears on behalf of, both plaintiffs and defendants in a number of areas of law, including commercial litigation, commercial, property and insolvency.

Alicia has acted for a wide range of clients, including mercantile agents, large as well as small companies, banks, government owned statutory bodies, liquidators and trustees.

Most recently Alicia has worked for a number of clients facing litigation that could put them in a troubled financial position and has provided advice on, and delivered, commercial results. This gives Alicia great satisfaction as it has assisted those clients to return to first a sustainable position and then to flourish. Alicia is very passionate about providing clear, commercial and pragmatic advice as well as solutions to create these results for her clients. While the quality of the work is work is motivating for Alicia, the aspects of her practice that gives her the most satisfaction is oral advocacy, research and problem solving.

She has also recently acted in litigated franchisee disputes, public examinations with respect to a bankrupt’s estate that required both service of documents and an arrest warrant to be issued overseas, a complex taxation dispute involving subrogation rights in relation to a trust, former trustees of the trust previously subject to a Part X Agreement and a current trustee of the trust in voluntary administration (and subsequently liquidation) as well as defending recovery actions that were the result of director penalty notices being issued.

Alicia holds a practicing certificate in Queensland and is admitted in the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia.

Outside of the law Alicia finds joy in spending time with her two pugs, Percy and Pav, a good session of weights and cardio at her local gym and getting out to the beach.
