Pervez is an Associate Director and Head of Melbourne Legal. Prior to joining JHK, Pervez managed and operated his own practice for approximately 7 years. Prior to commencing his own practice he was a solicitor at a large national firm. Pervez has experience in various practise areas with a focus on Business and Commercial law, Property Law, commercial litigation, Insolvency and Immigration Law.
Pervez has acted for a range of large banking and financial services organisations and corporate clients. He has provided advice across issues relating to business and consumer lending, mortgages, security reviews, fraud and forgeries, breach of contract and general litigation and dispute resolution matters. Pervez has also acted for insolvency practitioners, individuals facing bankruptcy action as well as businesses facing insolvency. Pervez have extensive experience dealing with businesses and individuals facing financial hardship and facing recovery action from credit providers and/or insolvency practitioners.
Pervez commenced his professional career as a banker and at a large financial institution and worked in Dispute Resolution, Risk Management, Compliance, Credit Management, Turnaround Management, Project Management and Relationship Management.
Pervez has strong ties with the local Bangladeshi community and is fluent in Bengali. Pervez is also in the management committee (Legal Counsel) of the Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI).
A father of two young children, Pervez is also an avid sports follower and in his spare time, he plays Cricket and Golf competitively.
