About Rick

Rick Jones has over 40 years’ experience in commercial litigation, insolvency, finance law and property law. Rick regularly acts on behalf of Australian financiers, preparing financial documentation including relevant security documentation, trusts, credit applications and terms of trade and advises on proposed transactions and disputed contracts.

His experience includes banking and finance recovery, including taking possession of property, conducting mortgagee sales and assisting financiers exercising their rights as a charge holder.

Rick advises on all facets of insolvency law and undertakes insolvency actions from the appointment of administrators, liquidators and receivers to acting in post-insolvency actions including insolvent trading claims, preference actions, public examinations, and recovery actions. Rick also acts on behalf of both creditors and debtor companies and individuals with respect to insolvency matters.

With extensive experience in commercial, corporate and property law, Rick is able to advise clients across a range of commercial arrangements including joint ventures, partnerships, license agreements, shareholders agreements, trusts and option agreements.

Rick also has many years’ experience in advising clients with respect to industrial relations actions, from preparing employment contracts through to major disputes involving unions and government departments.

Rick regularly prepares and presents seminars to professional organisations, particularly in relation to insolvency law.
